Honeymoon Safari

Where we go Samburu

Samburu is a remote reserve in northern Kenya, set along the Ewaso Ng’iro River. It is quieter and drier than the better-known parks, with red earth, doum palms and wildlife you will not see in the south, which suits two people who want space and privacy.

Activities on a Honeymoon Safari

Your own vehicle and guide, at your own pace. Look for elephants at the river, leopards in the acacias and the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and gerenuk.

Honeymoon Safari FAQs
Why choose Samburu for a honeymoon?

Samburu is quiet, scenic and private, with fewer vehicles than the big southern parks. It also has rare northern species, so even experienced safari-goers see something new.

Can you arrange romantic touches?

We can ask your lodge about flowers, a celebration cake, a private bush dinner or a sundowner for two. Each lodge decides what it offers, and we confirm before you book.

Should we fly or drive to Samburu?

The road from Nairobi takes most of a day, while a flight takes about an hour. Many couples fly one way and drive the other. We can quote both.

When is the best time to go?

Samburu can be visited all year. The dry months, mainly June to October and January to February, bring animals to the river and make sightings easier.

Can we add a beach stay?

Yes. We can end your safari with a few nights at the coast. Tell us your dates and budget and we will plan it.
