Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
SafariBox Africa (“we”, “us”, “our”) plans safaris and holidays in Kenya. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use safari-box.africa or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We handle your information in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
1. Who we are
SafariBox Africa is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@safari-box.africa or on [PHONE NUMBER]. Our address is [PHYSICAL ADDRESS].
2. Information we collect
When you ask for a quote. Our quote form asks for your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, travel date, number of travellers, lodge preference and any message you choose to write. We also record which safari page you sent the form from.
When you contact us on WhatsApp, email or phone. We receive your contact details and whatever you share in the conversation.
When you book a safari. To arrange your trip we may need more details, such as the full names of everyone travelling, passport or ID details, dates of birth, nationality, flight details, dietary needs, and any health or mobility needs you tell us about so we can plan safely. We only ask for what the booking needs.
When you visit the website. Like most websites, our hosting server automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a tailored quote.
- To plan, book and run your safari, including reserving lodges, park entry and transport.
- To contact you about your trip before, during and after it.
- To handle payments, refunds and our accounting records.
- To keep our website working, secure and protected from spam.
- To meet our legal obligations, for example tax and tourism regulations.
We will only send you newsletters or special offers if you ask to receive them, and you can stop them at any time.
4. Our legal reasons for using your information
We use your information because you asked us for a quote or booked a trip with us (to take steps for and perform a contract), because you gave us your consent (for example for marketing, or for health details you share with us), because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, or because the law requires it.
5. Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it where needed to deliver your trip or run our business:
- Lodges, camps and hotels where you will stay.
- Park and reserve authorities, such as Kenya Wildlife Service or county reserve offices, for entry permits.
- Transport and activity providers, such as airlines, balloon operators and boat operators, when they are part of your trip.
- Payment providers, such as your bank or M-Pesa, when you pay us.
- Service providers that run our website and email, such as our web hosting company and email provider, who only process information on our behalf.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
6. WhatsApp and other outside services
If you tap a WhatsApp button on our website, your message is sent through WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy. Our website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers. Links to other websites are covered by those websites’ own policies.
7. Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Small technical cookies may be used to keep the site working, for example to keep our team logged in. [If you later add Google Analytics or similar tools, update this section and add a cookie notice.]
8. Sending information outside Kenya
Some of the services we use, such as email and website providers, may store information on servers outside Kenya. When this happens we use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to Kenyan law.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep quote enquiries for up to [24 months] in case you want to book later. We keep booking and payment records for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting laws require. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
10. How we protect your information
Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, access to our email and systems is limited to staff who need it, and we keep our software up to date. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the authorities if a breach puts you at risk, as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- Be told how your information is used, as in this policy.
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need it.
- Object to, or withdraw consent for, how we use your information, including marketing.
To use any of these rights, email info@safari-box.africa. We will reply as soon as we can. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya at www.odpc.go.ke.
12. Children
Our website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children online. When children travel with us, we collect their details from the parent or guardian making the booking.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
