Samburu National Reserve
Samburu is wild, dry country in northern Kenya, cut through by the Ewaso Ng'iro River, which draws wildlife from across the plains. Guests head out on game drives searching for the Samburu Special Five, rare northern animals found in few other parks in Kenya. Elephants gather along the riverbanks, and lions, leopards and cheetahs hunt in the open bush. It feels very different from Kenya's southern parks, with red earth, doum palms and big skies.
